Last week I spent a pre-cruise night at the newly re-imagined Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale and… WOW… I’m still dreaming about it. I absolutely loved our stay and I will be bringing my family, Marme and Daddy-O back next May before we sail the Destiny. The only thing I’d change? Staying 2-3 nights rather than 1.
This resort has every single thing I look for when recommending a luxury stop before you set sail. Think gorgeous accommodations, incredible amenities, fabulous service, and the location could not be more convenient. Just minutes from the airport and Port Everglades, Pier Sixty-Six is just plain easy. And let me tell you – vacation really starts here.
I’ve worked extensively with their sister property in Orlando over the last year, and everyone I’ve sent has been thrilled. The Fort Lauderdale gem? Same exceptional hospitality on a sparkling waterfront stage.
Stay at Pier Sixty-Six: Beautiful Rooms + Stunning Views
Every room feels sophisticated yet relaxed, with sweeping views of the marina or coastline that instantly invoke vacation mode. We enjoyed this absolutely sprawling one bedroom suite, complete with two queens, two full bathrooms, a living room and a balcony running the length of the room. Now, this is going to sound bizarre but if you know, you know…. the toilets!!!!!

Between sunshine, salt air, and fresh Florida flavors, you’ll find something perfect morning to night. A few highlights right onsite, and all Fort Lauderdale has to offer is mere steps away.

In one evening, I didn’t get to experience nearly enough! We enjoyed cocktails and dinner at Pier Top and breakfast at The Market. Everything that entered my mouth was spectacular!
Play at Pier Sixty-Six: Pools, Marina Views & Pure Florida Fun
One of the first things that wowed me here was the multi-level pool deck. It’s stunning! The upper level is home to the adult-only pool. It’s calm, stylish, and the perfect spot to recharge with a cocktail and zero splashing.
Just down the steps you’ll find the Resort Pool, complete with waterslides and tons of space for families to spread out and enjoy the Florida sunshine. If I were cruising with a group or kids, this is 100% where we’d spend a lazy afternoon.
Of course, the marina takes center stage. You’ve got jaw-dropping yachts cruising by all day long. It gives the whole resort such a chic, coastal energy.
There’s also a spa offering sea-inspired treatments (I have that one saved for my next visit!), plus a kids’ club for little travelers ages 4–12, and even snorkel and dive excursions right from the resort.
Whether you’re lounging with a mojito or heading off for an adventure on the water, there’s no wrong way to play here.
