Honey and I slipped down to Disney last Sunday for a little grown-up dose of Christmas magic, and it was such a treat. While we certainly missed the boys, going just the two of us was honestly so much fun. We stayed club level, lingered over delicious food and festive cocktails, and built our entire trip around two late-night holiday events to kick off the season in the most magical way.

Our Christmas Party night started on Main Street, where the snow was falling, the music was playing and the decorations were sparkling in that way that somehow feels brand new every single year. No matter how many times I’ve seen it, I could cry on the spot. We spent the evening with absolutely no agenda other than to soak up every bit of Very Merry we could…

Ride Overlays
We absolutely love the attraction overlays at Christmas, but I’ll be honest, lines felt long all night. Still, we hopped on a few classics just to say we did.

Dance Parties
One of the most underrated parts of Very Merry is the pop-up dance parties tucked around the park. Honey and I wandered into a couple throughout the night. You’ll find DJs spinning Christmas remixes, characters bouncing along, lights twinkling everywhere. It’s impossible not to smile.

Treat Stops
We made our way around the park picking up the complimentary treats and even brought some back to Whit who was sad he had to go to school and miss the fun. THANK YOU to Mimi and Epaw for staying behind with him!

The Fireworks Dessert Party
This is always such a highlight. We love having a comfortable spot with yummy desserts and holiday drinks. Every time that show starts, I forget how breathtaking it is. Pure magic.

Jack & Sally
We opted for one character meet and it had to be Jack and Sally. Their meet-and-greet is so well done and the photos are always fantastic. There are so many other characters meeting in formal lines, and also just bopping about.

The Parade (always my favorite part)
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade remains among the best things Disney does all year. We watched the later one and had no trouble finding a spot on Main Street. Between the toy soldiers, the reindeer, and of course Santa… I was grinning like a five-year-old. It never gets old. It was even more special sharing it with a sweet friend who loves these things as much as I do!

Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration is another don’t miss part of the event. The energy is infectious with classic Christmas songs, fun choreography and that perfect dose of Disney cheer. The bonus of attending without littles? You don’t have to worry if they can see :-)

Even without the boys, or maybe because we weren’t rushing between rides and cocoa breaks, the whole night felt nostalgic and sparkly and slow in the loveliest way.

If you’re considering Very Merry in 2026, I’d love to help you plan it. Between the best nights to attend, dessert parties worth the splurge, dining before the event, and an expert who has done it all, I’ve got you fully covered. It’s one of my favorite Disney events ever, and I’d love to help your family experience the same joy. Now is the time to work with me on your hotel + ticket package. Then, we can add on the party and other special events next spring/summer!
