It’s been a minute since I’ve shared a podcast round-up. I’ve had my nose stuck in a book more often than not lately, but I still love a good podcast for driving, cleaning and making dinner.
You can find all of my podcast favorites from years past on this running thread. As usual, every single one of these falls squarely in the true crime category. No surprises there.
Here are a few I recently binged.

Dead Certain: The Martha Moxley Case
This one completely pulled me in. The murder of Martha Moxley is a case I’ve known about in a general sense, but this podcast dives deep into the details, timelines, missteps and many twists over the years. It is thoughtfully done, well paced and incredibly sad. A must listen if you like long form investigative storytelling.
Blood Relatives: In the Dark
On August 7, 1985, five members of the same family were shot and killed inside their English country home, White House Farm. It initially appeared to be an open-and-shut case, but almost nothing is as simple as it seems. Reported by New Yorker staff writer Heidi Blake, this podcast methodically unravels the investigation, questionable conclusions, and lingering doubts surrounding the murders.
Beth’s Dead
This one centers around the mysterious death of Beth and the lingering questions that followed. It unfolds slowly and thoughtfully, with interviews, old recordings, and new discoveries layered in. I found myself constantly second guessing what I thought I knew.
Hand in the Window
This was my least favorite of the lot, but a good way to pass the time when doing chores and such. This six-part ABC Audio and 20/20 true crime podcast, hosted by John Quiñones, investigates a 2016 Ohio kidnapping case that ultimately led to the exposure of serial killer Shawn Grate. A chilling 911 call becomes a pivotal moment in the story, and the series dives into how the case unfolded, featuring interviews with detectives and those closely involved.
Devil in the Desert
A disturbing case set in the California desert involving manipulation, abuse, and murder. This one is heavy and graphic, but well reported. If you like stories that examine how predators hide in plain sight, this will keep you listening.
If you have a great true crime podcast recommendation, send it my way. I am clearly drawn to deep-dive, investigative style podcasts that focus on a single case, rather than shows that jump from story to story or lean into humor over facts. I am always adding to my queue.
