One of my favorite parts of entertaining is adding a small, thoughtful touch that makes guests feel extra special. For our New Year’s Eve soirée, that detail came in the form of the cutest personalized cups!
If you’ve followed along here or on Instagram this year, you know my favorite trick of 2025 has been using my Cricut to personalize ribbon. It’s such an easy way to elevate gifts, table settings and little party details without breaking the budget. This time, I paired black ribbon with gold heat-transfer vinyl that I already had tucked away in my craft stash.
The cups themselves were a darling find from the Emily McCarthy shop in Savannah. I spotted them over Christmas break and immediately thought party favors. They were the perfect blank canvas for a festive New Year’s Eve touch.

When it came time to assemble everything, I had a small hiccup that turned into a happy discovery. I cut the first ribbon just a bit too short to tie into a proper bow. Instead of starting over, I remembered a trick I learned from Parks Party Planning on Instagram – using tiny clear hair elastics to make bows. It saves ribbon, keeps everything neat and honestly makes the whole process faster. Once I tried it, I was hooked. The bow came together perfectly, and I used a second clear elastic to attach it right onto the straw.
I hope your New Year is off to a wonderful start. We’re still basking it the slowness of the season over here.
