Biergarten Restaurant in Epcot

Every day is Oktoberfest at Biergarten Restaurant in the Germany pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase.

It had been a few years since we last dined here, and as soon as we finished this most recent meal, we all agreed we had waited far too long to come back. I have been such a longtime fan of Biergarten that I actually chose it for my birthday lunch on this particular visit, which tells you everything you need to know. It was such a great experience from start to finish.

Biergarten transports you to a traditional Bavarian village complete with long communal tables, twinkle lights and the oompah beat of a lively Polka band. It feels festive and immersive in a way that is hard to replicate at home. This is not just dinner. It is an experience.

The live entertainment runs a few times during your meal, and guests are invited to clap along and even hit the dance floor. It is joyful and charming and just plain fun.

Now, about the buffet.

Yes, it is buffet style, but that actually works beautifully here. The German offerings are excellent. Think bratwurst, pork schnitzel, rotisserie chicken, sauerkraut, spaetzle and a variety of fresh salads. The beer cheese soup is outstanding and tastes remarkably similar to the beloved version at Le Cellier.

What I especially love is that the buffet format allows everyone to try something they might not otherwise order. The kids can stick to familiar favorites if they wish, because there are plenty of American options as well, but it is a low risk way to branch out and sample authentic German fare. It truly gives everyone at the table something to enjoy.

Dessert is equally strong with Bavarian cheesecake and hand-pulled apple strudel made fresh daily.

Of course, it would hardly be Biergarten without German beer. Honey was very happy with his selection, while I opted for a wine flight and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Another reason I often recommend Biergarten to clients is that it is one of the few restaurants that can comfortably accommodate larger parties without splitting you into multiple tables. In my opinion, Biergarten remains one of the more underrated dining experiences in Epcot. It delivers on food, entertainment, and atmosphere all in one.

Pro Tip: As you are paying your check, mobile order Werther’s popcorn from Karamell Kuche. Breeze in and pick it up on your way out. It remains one of my top three Disney snacks.
