Well, February came and went in a flash. Here are all the random thoughts I didn’t post about this month!
Two weekends in a row, horrible weather derailed our planned trip to Auburn. We had every intention of a proper weekend visit, but instead we ended up squeezing in a quick trip just to hug his neck and take him to supper. Not what we planned, but sometimes you take what you can get and call it a win.
He also had his fraternity form in New Orleans. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t breathe a DEEP sigh of relief when he was safely back in Auburn. Mamas of littles…. the worrying never stops!

Whit had a beautiful concert with the chamber orchestra this month. He was lucky enough to have both grandmas and Grandpa in the audience, which made it even more special. We are so proud of him.
That same weekend, we got to see Jay in his school’s production of Matilda. It was wonderful. There is so much talent in these kids, and I love getting to support them in all these creative ways.

Honey and I finally checked something off our long-standing Atlanta list. We have never eaten at Canoe, which is wild considering we used to live right nearby. We popped into the bar for a drink and an appetizer before an event, and it was delicious. I can see why it has been a staple for so many years.

In other very glamorous news, we went mattress shopping. After months of waking up with various aches and pains and saying, “Is this fifty?” we decided it was time. We landed on a Tempur-Pedic, which has officially arrived. Jury is still out. I am hopeful, but I am also slightly suspicious.

I stumbled across a Georgia Tech statistic this month that I found fascinating and entirely believable. My family is representing a rather strong percentage of that small slice of the pie, and I am not mad about it.

I attended a Galentine’s party at my friend M’s house, and she is truly a spectacular hostess. The spread was beautiful, the company was even better, and it was one of those nights that fills your cup in the best way.

At some point this month I declared the ultimate girl dinner to be a Caesar salad, fries, and a Coke. I stand by it.

I did not really make a big deal about Valentine’s Day this year since it fell right before our ski trip, but it ended up being sweet in the simplest way. Honey went out early and brought home bagels from our local shop, which feels like the biggest treat because they only take cash and I never have any. As a result, I almost never get to eat there. Whit had trivia with friends that night, so Honey shopped for and prepared a yummy supper for just the two of us at home. Nothing elaborate. Just quiet and easy and unrushed.

Flying home the other night, I made myself a little plane sick staring out the window at the Atlanta lights. I could not look away. It was worth it.

And finally, I am currently obsessed with @courtneycooksinsta. She is happy, darling, and just plain fun to follow. We all need a little light content in our feeds.

I’m a little in shock that we’ve already run through two months of 2026!
