With my big 50th birthday celebration this month, I decided to skip my usual St. Patrick’s Day door and just leave the bows and monograms up all month long.

Now I have so many fun details from the party to share soon, but for now I thought I would start outside. The whole celebration was black and white with white flowers, bows and monograms on just about everything. It felt festive and was exactly what I envisioned when I first started dreaming about how in the world I would celebrate myself… or even if I should. Now that I am fifty plus a few days, I am firmly in the camp of do what makes you happy, girl. :-)
For the front door, I originally thought about doing a wreath made from fresh flowers. After a little reality check, I realized it probably would not survive very long. I ended up finding this lovely faux option on Amazon and it turned out to be just perfect. It is surprisingly realistic and I can already tell I will use it again and again.
To tie it into the party theme, I added a flurry of black ribbons. They were so pretty blowing around in the March breeze.

The dog statues got their own monogrammed bows because of course they did. I also brought around two lanterns that usually live on the porch. They were part of the party setup and created such a pretty little glow for guests arriving that I decided to leave them here for the rest of the month.

The finishing touch was the big black bow over the door. I bought a handful of them from Shein right after Christmas for under ten dollars each. The exact ones I ordered are sold out, but I am sure there are others.
And because Atlanta decided to give us a little preview of spring this week, I could not resist grabbing ferns when I popped into Home Depot for tape. These are much smaller than I usually buy, but coming off the flu and staring down a to-do list that felt about 87 miles long, they were exactly what I needed. And honestly, they still give that perfect little whisper of spring.

Over on the side door, I am using the birthday cake door hanger I added to my collection last year. A quick swipe of the chalk marker personalized it for yours truly.

It is a little festive, a little celebratory, and the perfect way to kick off a month that has already been pretty special.
