Today I turn 50.
I don’t know that I’ve done everything right over the last five decades, but I do know one thing for sure: I have no regrets. I raised the kids, loved the husband, got the dogs, took the trip, accepted the job, showed up and loved with abandon.
There is so much to relish in the years we are blessed with, and I have come to believe it is always worth choosing joy, laughter, and the company of people who fill your heart to the brim.
So here’s to the years ahead. To good food and good wine and good friends. To belly laughs, long talks, short trips, Taco Tuesdays, and celebrations that don’t wait for an occasion.

I managed to bounce back from the flu just in time to celebrate with a house, yard and driveway full of loved ones Friday night in the party of my 50-year-old dreams. My parents and Honey were instrumental in helping pull that off, and it has been so much fun having them here all weekend. John and crew rolled into town just in time to join the festivities, and it truly was a night I will treasure forever. I cannot wait to share all the details.

This morning I slept in until 9:15 and enjoyed hot coffee in the den under the remnants of balloons and streamers and a copious amount of flowers with Honey and my parents. Honey ran out for a bagel run at my favorite spot, which felt like the perfect birthday breakfast. This evening we are off to see CeeCee’s spring ballet and then out to dinner. And honestly, it feels like the most wonderful way to mark the start of this next chapter.
So here’s to fifty. I am deeply grateful for this life, for the people who share it with me, and for all the years still ahead. Let’s do this!
