March has been full of mahjong, and I am not mad about it one bit. I hosted our monthly Sips & Suits gathering here at the house with three full tables, and it was such a fun night. There is just something about a table full of tiles, a few sips and good friends that makes for the best kind of evening.
I have also started playing monthly with a neighborhood group, which has been so much fun. It is such a great way to connect, and I love how this little hobby continues to bring new people into my world.
At this week’s game, our host used her Birthday Butler stand to hang the cutest printable mahjong banner, and I immediately took note. It was such a simple detail but made the table feel extra festive.

And in other March mahjong news… I officially taught Mother and Daddy-O how to play! Marme will be the first to tell you she is “not a gamer,” but she is absolutely competitive and very much enjoyed her wins. Ha! And Daddy-O… well, I get my love of games, puzzles and numbers from him. He caught on right away and was fully in it.
We spent hours over my birthday weekend cracking tiles, laughing and learning together. It was one of those unexpectedly sweet moments that ended up being a highlight of the weekend.
I have said it before, but I will say it again… I am so glad I learned to play!
