Happy Easter!
I shared my Easter touches around the house… but the best part was watching it all be lived in. I couldn’t have asked for more out of the weekend. My heart was so full.

Friday started with a little happy hour before we ordered dinner from one of the boys’ local favorites. We played games well into the night.

Saturday morning, we headed out for bagels with Grandma Juju, and then the house filled up in the best way. Both boys were home, both with friends over from afternoon until well after my bedtime. Honey was outside grilling burgers while they swam, and I spent the day feeding about 13 teens and twenty-somethings for hours on end. The dogs were running underfoot, and everything felt jubilant and busy in the very best way.

Sunday morning, we were off to Mass, then came home to a meal that felt just right for us. We skipped the traditional Easter feast and went with the boys’ favorite… steaks, twice-baked potatoes and a few really good appetizers. The boys loved their Easter baskets this year, and at this age and stage, if you tell me you need something, it’s going in a stocking, a birthday box or an Easter basket. Hence the shoes, shorts, shampoo and then a few fun food items.

After loading him up with bags of food to go (just like Marme and Daddy-O still do for us) – shepard’s pie, brownies, sourdough, Honey’s salsa and more – John headed back to Auburn. It doesn’t get any easier to see him drive away. And that’s the thing about weekends like this… you spend so much time preparing for them, and then suddenly they’re over. But what you’re left with is exactly what matters. A full house, full hearts and overwhelming thankfulness that it all happened.
