Every year I leave CeeCee’s recital thinking surely she cannot possibly get any better. And then, impossibly, she does.
I sat there this year absolutely mesmerized watching her on stage. Her technique, poise, artistry and confidence brought tears to my eyes more than once. She is still one of the tiniest dancers up there, yet somehow your eyes are immediately drawn straight to her the moment she steps on stage. She simply shines.
It’s been such a joy watching this sweet little girl grow into such an extraordinary ballerina over the years. And perhaps even more special has been watching her grow into such a disciplined, hardworking and gracious young lady behind the scenes too.
This year has been especially exciting for her ballet journey.
She attended the prestigious spring intensive at The Royal Ballet School at White Lodge, which is such an incredible honor.
And then this summer, she’ll spend FIVE weeks training in New York City with American Ballet Theatre. FIVE WEEKS!
She also received a scholarship through her dance studio for the program, which made us all even more proud of the tremendous dedication and work ethic that helped make this opportunity possible.
And honestly, as a lifelong ballet lover myself, it gives me chills knowing she’ll be dancing in the same studios where so many legendary ABT dancers have trained and performed over the years. Baryshnikov, Gelsey Kirkland, Gillian Murphy, Misty Copeland, Isabella Boylston and Skylar Brandt… and now our CeeCee too. 🤍
Honey and I already cannot wait to visit her in New York this summer.
I love being her Aunchie and bestie more than I could ever properly put into words. Truly one of the greatest blessings and joys of my life.
