The guy we call Honey and Dad is celebrating his birthday today! I know I say it often, but he truly is the most patient, kind, laid-back and level-headed man I’ve ever known. He takes such good care of our little family, and we all know without a doubt that there is nothing he wouldn’t do for us.
He is so often the voice of reason as we navigate life with a young adult, a teen and two puppies. He works hard all day, yet has never once complained about jumping in at home too. He simply shows up for us over and over again in all the ways that matter most. I’m endlessly thankful to have this man by my side.
As for the birthday itself… well, it looked much like most adult birthdays do. Work. Meetings. The usual. But since it’s Friday, we were thrilled to have John back home for the weekend after starting his internship on Monday, which made the day feel extra special. And of course, we celebrated with Honey’s favorite coconut cake.
