Junior Year Golf Season

And just like that… a third year of varsity golf is complete.

Going into this season, I’ll admit we were a little nervous. We had new coaches this year, and we absolutely adored the previous coaching staff. They meant so much to the boys and created such a positive culture around the program, so naturally there was some uncertainty heading into a season of change. But it turned out to be such a spectacular year.

The new coaching team really found their rhythm quickly. The faculty coach was incredibly organized and on top of everything, while the community coach connected so naturally with the kids. Together, they built a season that felt both structured and genuinely fun for the team.

One thing that was especially exciting was seeing how much they ramped up recruiting and interest in the program. Tryouts had a huge turnout this year and the team ended up with such a great group of guys… plus our one beloved girl. And truly, the team just gelled.

There was such a good camaraderie this season, and it made everything even more enjoyable. Golf can be such an individual sport, which makes it especially meaningful when a team genuinely enjoys being together.

As for Whit, it’s been so fun watching him continue to grow in both confidence and consistency over these last three years. It’s hard to believe we’re already wrapping up junior year and staring senior season in the face.

Time really does fly.
