On My Bedside {The Magnolia Parks Series}

Well… I did it. After nearly a year of reading, listening and becoming entirely too invested in fictional people, I’ve officially finished the Magnolia Parks series.

The series includes:

  • Magnolia Parks
  • Daisy Haites
  • Magnolia Parks: The Long Way Home
  • Daisy Haites: The Great Undoing
  • Magnolia Parks: Into the Dar

I started the series the old-fashioned way, reading each book. Somewhere along the line, though, I switched to the audiobooks and never looked back. They are so well narrated! Each character has such a distinct voice that I found myself reaching for my headphones every chance I got. Whether I was walking, driving, doing laundry, needlepointing or tackling chores around the house, I was always eager to squeeze in another chapter. If you’re considering this series, I wholeheartedly recommend listening.

I’ll also say this: these books aren’t particularly deep literature, and I don’t think they’re trying to be. They’re full of glamorous twenty-somethings wearing designer clothes, jet-setting around London and making one questionable decision after another. And yet, I absolutely loved them.

Sometimes a book doesn’t have to change your life to be a wonderful escape. This series was simply fun. I found myself completely invested in the characters and genuinely cared about how their stories unfolded. By the final book, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye.

If you’re looking for a series that is entertaining, addictive and wonderfully narrated, this one certainly kept my attention from beginning to end.

I’ve got The Calamity Club on deck. I’ve not yet cracked the cover because I don’t know how these old eyes are going to make it 634 pages.
