Walt’s Main Street Story Tour in Disneyland Park

First things first, Happy Easter! I hope that you and yours enjoy a beautiful day together. Today wraps up my blitz of sharing all the Disneyland things with what was a highlight for me: Walt’s Main Street Story Tour in Disneyland Park.

On this intimate walking tour, you will discover hidden details, little-known facts and endearing trivia about Disneyland Park’s magnificent Main Street, U.S.A, inspired by Walt’s boyhood town of Marceline, Missouri. You will hear behind-the-scenes stories and enchanting tidbits throughout this 90-minute experience.

You will learn about some of the windows and shops, unique construction techniques, pieces Walt personally brought to the parks, and fascinating “residents” of Main Street like Tilly in the ticket booth. I don’t want to give away detailed spoilers!

The tour culminates with a visit to Walt’s apartment high above the Disneyland Fire Station in Town Square, where a lamp is kept burning in honor of Walt.

While Disneyland was being built Walt had a small apartment built for his personal use. He worked and rested here, and his family used it as a private gathering spot until his death. The apartment is surprisingly tiny, with two sofas that covert to twin beds, a kitchenette and a bathroom. Guests are not allowed to take there own photos so here is one from the Disney archives.

A PhotoPass photographer came during our visit to capture family photos!

The experience ends on the private patio just off of the apartment. It was an absolutely lovely space where were enjoyed a few refreshements. This tour is the first time guests have been allowed to enjoy this space!

As mega Disney fans, my family thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this tour! Honey and Whit said the Main Street part was their favorite, while the time in Walt’s apartment was mine. I don’t know that I’d recommend this to the general guest, but if you love Disney, you will love this!
