Wanderlust {Nashville}

October 6, 2016April 26, 2017

After Chattanooga and Knoxville, the next city on our “Tour of Tennessee” itinerary for next spring is Nashville!  Honey and I have only been to Music City once for a wedding and are super excited about heading back. I’d love to hear your suggestions for… where to stay – specifically what part of town where to… Read More

Around Atlanta {Stone Mountain Park}

September 18, 2016September 21, 2018

Our Stone Mountain Stay + Play package included two day park tickets to Stone Mountain Park.  This gives access to everything  but Ride the Ducks.  After a leisurely breakfast at camp, we got to the park around 10:30 on Saturday and had a delightful day exploring!!  It’s hard to believe this is right here in… Read More

Around Atlanta {Stone Mountain Campground}

September 17, 2016September 21, 2018

Y’all, there was a day when I could have said with confidence that “I don’t camp.”  Two boys later and I do things every single day that I never thought I would and, quite often, I truly enjoy myself!  When I thought up my 40th birthday bucket list, I listed “do it all at Stone Mountain”… Read More

Tybee Island Fish Camp + Social Club

September 6, 2016September 7, 2016

I’d be completely remiss if I didn’t insist that y’all try Tybee Island Fish Camp for a fabulous date night.  It’s owned by the same young couple that run our favorite Tybee Island Social Club.  The menu is small but absolutely out of this world.  I think between Honey and me and Sister and her… Read More

Sunrise to Sunsest

September 5, 2016September 6, 2016

Every morning of my life Mother awoke me with the words “rise and shine”.  There’s truly something to it.  Sister, her Mister, the puppy and I walked down near the Tybee Pier for the most magical sunrise on the island yesterday. I couldn’t help but share other views of the beach and marsh from yesterday… Read More

The Civil War at Fort Pulaski

September 4, 2016September 4, 2016

John is the throes of learning about the Civil War at school.  It’s something I’ve always been interested in, and I’ve so enjoyed helping him understand the war and what times were like for the South during those four years.  We’re watching Gone with the Wind, we visited Stone Mountain in Atlanta and we dug… Read More

Bye, Hermine

September 3, 2016September 6, 2016

We were a little worried all week that Hermine would disrupt our plans to travel home to Savannah for the long weekend.  As luck would have it, she rolled in and out and both my parent’s and Sister’s places were spared any damage at all.  We’ve had the most gorgeous weather.  Our first day the… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
