A Twilight Tour

The fleeting minutes of twilight are my favorite time of day.

In those few bewitching moments, the sun dips below the horizon and the world just seems to dance and glitter.

And the magic and wonder of Christmas is just even more breathtaking!

Can I just say how very glad I am that I took these pictures last week before a leak necessitated taking our main Christmas tree down?  On December 11.  *boo hoo hoo hoo*  Worst of all?  Not one.single.thing has even been started on the repair.  Not one iota of work.  I have come to terms with the fact that the tree is not going back up this year and just hope that we aren’t ringing in 2014 with a hole in the ceiling.

Now, back to the good stuff…

  1. SO happy you did a twilight tour again this year – just lovely! And so sorry to hear about your leak! I saw that on IG & hoped everything would be fixed & put back together. :-/

  2. Love, love, love your home. The twilight photos are lovely and I'm so sad that your ceiling has not been repaired. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. At least you have some other trees to enjoy.

  3. Love the quote at the end! In fact, it's the very quote on our Christmas cards this year! I enjoy your blog ever so much! Merry Christmas and a jolly ol' Ho! Ho! Ho!

  4. Hi there! Just found you from Hometalk. It's nice to meet local bloggers. I'm less than an hour north of ATL. I thoroughly enjoyed going through your before and after home tour. Your home is simply gorgeous and truly exhibits that sweet Georgia charm! Meet your new follower! :-)

  5. Oh, that stinks about the leak! At least you have lovely pictures! It is so cozy, and I just love everything you have in your home.

  6. Your "Christmas home" is stunning during the day and absolutely magical at night with all the twinkling lights. You have done an amazing job yet again!

May I ask where you found your nativity in the dining room? My nativity is very large and I am looking for one about your size.

Also, the wonderful golden deer on your kitchen table. Do you remember where your found him?

Don't fret about the leak. I hate that you aren't about to use your main tree, but I know the littles are still having the best Christmas in your wonderful home. Everything you and honey do make it wonderful for them!

A continued blessed Christmas holiday to you!

  7. Your house is indeed beautiful. Could I ask where you find the candles for your Ballard sconces in your living room? I have those sconces and have a hard time finding candles with a small enough diameter to fit.
    thank you. Merry Xmas!

  8. Your house looks awesome (as usual!)…. Say, is that leak under your favorite blue bathroom? If so, maybe it's time for that remodel! hee hee! Merry Christmas to you and your family! Love your blog!

  9. Amanda–Would you mind sharing where you found the small mirrors above the boys' beds? I just adore them and would love to put one in my son's room.
    Thanks so much!

  10. I have been following – aka – stalking your blog for several months and I'm in love with your sweet family! I think your home is my very favorite in blog-land. It is sophisticated, elegant and homey all in one!

I absolutely adore how you dress your boys and make every day and occasion a celebration. It reminds me of when I was a young mother and raising my own three boys. I tried to make a big deal about everything too – from b'days, little holidays and even First Reconciliation (Catholic here too). I hs'd my guys k-12 and they're all grown now and graduated from college, but I still try to make every day special. A sweet Sister (a nun) once told me to celebrate every day because it was a gift and that's why it was called "the present".

Thank you for sharing your home with all of us!

    Merry Christmas!
    gena
