Each February our club brings over a chef that hails straight from Italy, and last night I had the pleasure of attending his ever so authentic Italian cooking class. I was beyond excited when fun friend M suggested that we attend! She had me at just the prospect of a girls night out, so the loads of delicious food and bottomless glass of wine were just icing on the cake.
The Menu:
Barchette de Insalata Belga Indivia con Formaggio e Speck
Pappa al Pomodoro
Filetti di Passera Grenoblesse and Zucchine Trifolate Alle Spezie
Mousse di Cioccolato con Lingue di Gatto
Now, while I know a Southern drawl like the back of my hand, I have a slightly embarrassing impediment on understanding any other variation of accented English. In this grand melting pot of a country I just feel horrid about it, but as much as I try to understand, the more my brain works against me. So, needless to say, I didn’t process a word that came out of that sweet chef’s mouth, bless his heart. His food was divine and he truly seemed ever so kind. Luckily he provided us with nice, printed recipe books so I was able to follow along and just might have a sliver of a chance of perhaps even recreating at home (sounds likely, huh?).
Ciao, y’all.
PS. We started our daily Valentine’s Fortune Cookies today. Yay! It’s February! Both littles pulled out the very same fortune “He that loves not knows not God; For God is love.” It is one of my absolute favorites and mister smarty pants memorized it in a snap :-)
