Man-ertaining

Y’all, as evidenced by the subject of this post, there’s not a whole lot going on around these parts.  A welcome change from the holiday, birthday, school and football craziness that gobbled up October, November and December.  Now, that being said, we do have a few little things in the works that I can’t wait to share on their completion.

And, since we’re on the way out the door to watch some football (and hopefully some Golden Globes for the gals), it reminded me of this…

Last week Honey invited a few cronies over to watch some very important football game down in the basement. I found it incredibly darling that he not only procured but also set up the spread for the affair.

So what to the fact that there was an impressively large shelf stable sausage, a dip that involved the WalMart private label brand of processed cheese spread, and a roll of paper towels. It was all too sweet – standing back, keeping my ideas to myself and watching him do the things that I usually do like choosing serving bowls, arranging the table and preparing the dip. The way that he so thoughtfully and meticulously prepared for the evening spoke to a love language I didn’t even know I had.

And to top it all off, he had washed every dish and picked up the entire basement by the time I woke up the next morning.

That has to be man-ertaining at it’s best.  Don’t ya think?!?

With that, we’re off.  And, at the risk of sounding like I actually know something about football, I’m pulling for the Packers.  This is solely based on the fact that Honey has promised to purchase a Green Bay jersey for the PCP if they make it to the Superbowl and that would literally make the kid’s year thus far (you know, all twenty odd days of it.)
xoxo
