Blue Crab

Earlier this month I shared the darling unfinished crab that I asked Tamera at Scrappin Plus to cut.

Well, with Mother in town for CeeCee’s baptism, I was able to run through quite a few little projects that have been sitting on my list since school started.  One of which was throwing a coat of paint on that baby and slapping it up on the wall of the garage.  He just makes me smile every time I drive in!!

We used left over paint from the door – Benjamin Moore Grenada Villa.  If you’d like to take a peek at the entire garage makeover, check it out here.

While we were working on the crab, Daddy-O entertained his namesake by teaching him the art of dominos.

I could get used to having a full time assistant and full time sitter.  Alas, they had to get back to… um… retirement.  :-)

  1. That looks perfect in there!! Random question, is that rug fairly new? I have a couple of the leopard belgique rugs and the last time I ordered one, the pattern and color looked so different I had to return it.

  2. Laura, Yes! They did change the rug. This one is the newer look, as are the two on my porch. The ones inside are different / older and I like them better. I too was sad when they changed because it's such a great rug!

  3. It's perfect! You have the cutest garage! I keep meaning to tell you, I am not able to leave comments on your blog when I come over directly from Bloglovin. I don't know if anyone else is having that problem but thought I would mention it in case there is some kind of system glich.

  4. Did you just send her an image of what you wanted? I'm looking for a large pineapple for a project that I've been cooking up for ages!

  5. oh I love Mr. Crabby…he's so cute! And that garage? Don't even get me started…too sweet.

I can totally relate to your daddy-o and mama getting back to "retirement" after thoroughly spoiling the grands…after all, isn't that what we "retirees" are supposed to do?! (LOL)

  6. I love your garage, it is so clean! However, in our garage, we get spiders, etc. How do you keep them from getting in the backpacks, swimwear..all that? I would be always worrying that one got in!

  7. Amanda, love all your decorating. I tried to post earlier but not sure the post went through so I apologize if you get both. Anyway, I wondered if you have thought about painting your garage floor with epoxy. It comes in kits at Lowes and really makes a garage floor look great. I think it is made by Quikrete. It would make your already fabulous garage even more fabulous.

  8. Yes, we have considered the epoxy but our floor is so dinged, dented and stained that Honey doesn't think it will take to it without a ton of prep work that we just aren't quite ready to tackle. He also looked at those locking tiles but they were a little too cost prohibitive. All in good time :-)

  9. Terry – ewwww I dislike spiders but am just fine squashing them (unlike with roaches where I shriek and run for cover). We use the swim suits and towels nearly every day so that hasn't been an issue. I blow out the garage at least once a week and that seems to keep the bugs in check – never really give them a chance to settle in and get comfy :-)
