Splash in the ‘Boro

I never thought I’d see the day that we were booking it out of Savannah to spend a day in Statesboro :-)  We considered heading to Summer Waves in Jekyll for some fun in the sun, but decided at the eleventh hour to give Splash in the ‘Boro a whirl.  I’m SO glad that we did!  It’s an hour closer (about an hour from Savannah), cost half the price ($12 for above 48”, $10 for under and $6 for seniors), and was super clean and FUN!!

We arrived right at opening time and stayed for about five and a half hours.  Surprisingly, we probably spent half of the time in the lazy river.  An unexpected luxury for Mother and me!  There were also couple of large water play areas, a lily pad obstacle course, a huge mat slide, a raft slide and two body slides in addition to a pool with a diving board.

If you go…

  • You can bring in bottled water or clear containers with water.  I will say that they didn’t check our bag at all.
  • Get there early to stick your stuff on a chair in the shade.
  • You can purchase a little pouch to wear around your neck with your phone and cash for $5, if you don’t already have one.
  • Food is very reasonably priced – there are sandwiches, burgers and fries, ice cream, etc.  You can also get your hand stamped to re-enter should you choose to leave.
  • Parking is free.

We stopped at Sonic on our way back to Savannah for slushies and vanilla cokes.

With that, it’s time to get the littles to bed.  I think they’ll be out as soon as their heads hit the pillows!

  1. Looks like fun! We love going to the Lenora waterpark in Snellville which looks very similar. And sonic on the way home is the perfect icing on the cake! xo

  2. Love it, have a great week! Can you recommend any fun places around Savannah and the Golden Isles area for my just turned (very tall!) 4 year old and 18 month old boys for a fun day out? We are visiting my parents in Amelia Island for the month of July and I feel like we will need some fun big boy stuff to do here and there when we're not at the beach. Thanks!

  3. Love Whit's Mickey tie dye:-). Is that the one he made at Disney's Hilton Head? Very cute.
