Our little elf, Scout, came a wee bit early this year, flying in from the North Pole in his birthday best to celebrate John’s 10th birthday breakfast!!!
Normally Scout brings an assortment of pint sized breakfast treats on his first day back, but since we had a guest of honor celebrating a milestone birthday, the little elf treated us to our favorite Krispy Kreme donuts!!
All of the birthday boy’s favorites were on hand – glazed, chocolate with sprinkles and creme filled.
Inside the cupcake was a little note with a BIG announcement! We are going to DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s a few months away yet, but it was his birthday wish and we want him to be able to help us plan the itinerary. Flights have been purchased and the Disneyland Hotel has been reserved!!!!!!!!!!! He was BEYOND thrilled.
I’m afraid this kid is going to eat me out of house and home. Never under estimate the appetite of a ten year old boy! This was just the first of three plates.
Now, if you’ve been around this blog for a little while, you will know that we normally give the littles “forever gifts” on their birthdays. With them both happening so close to the holidays, we give them something nice that we hope they will have for a long, long time.
This year’s gift was a NICE set of LL Bean rolling luggage. Mother and Daddy-O gave me my set of LL Bean luggage when I was in high school and 25 years later it’s still kicking. That’s got to be pretty close to forever. :-)
I went ahead and decked it out with Disney bag tags for our impending celebratory trip.
And, tucked inside, was his Duffy Bear decked out in a brand spanking new outfit for the Disneyland 60th Diamond Celebration. I mean SO cute, right? John was super excited – even at 10 he loves his Duffy :-) (shhh… don’t tell)
It was a wonderful breakfast and we are ALL so excited for an amazing year to come!!
Happy Birthday John and welcome Scout!!
xoxo

Happy 10th to John! Sounds like a fun trip ahead. We took Elie when she was little as we were visiting my SIL and also had a company trip in CA. We had a lot of fun. Always love your gift ideas!!
You have to do Napa Rose while you are there. It was actually one of the best meals ever. Which surprises me b/c I don’t think Disney food is amazing. It’s easy to find one or two things on each menu that is great. But, Napa Rose was across the board great. What a fun surprise. You are going to love DL because it only takes a day to do it all .
Wow! What a way to kick off TEN and the Christmas season! xo
Happy birthday, John!
I live only minutes from Disneyland–if you want to know about Anaheim, let me know!
Happy Birthday! Love all of your celebrations! Little things mean a lot. ( love Whit in the background with his shirt all twisted-kids, love them)
I LOVE that you make every “special day” an “occasion” for your family!!!!! Such wonderful traditions & memories that they will have for the rest of their lives ? Very inspiring!!!! Happy Holidays!!!!
