Priority A1a after our trip was to get thank you notes written from my birthday. I don’t care what anyone says, there is nothing better than a good, old fashioned, hand written thank you note!! And I do subscribe to the “better late than never” philosophy :-)
I call Elsa my toddler. Tiring her out makes SUCH a huge difference in her sleeping through the night. (“sleeping through the night”… something I thought was behind me six years ago…)
John has me out in the driveway every day photographing his “slam dunks”. He puts on his football gloves, climbs up the back of the goal and then poses for his pic. Boys are so … odd… for lack of a better word.
I didn’t fact check this, but found it inspirational nonetheless.
And, speaking of forty, many of my besties are celebrating this year. We went out for bestie M last week… this one is SO appropriate for us. Check, check, check and check.
I am sooooo happy it’s spring!!! I love the look of long sleeved tops with shorts or sleeveless tops with white jeans. There are approximately four days a year down South where it’s not too hot or too cold to pull off this look.
Have y’all seen this little monkey cheesing for his stamp??? I would die of cuteness every time I checked my mailbox. And seriously, Queen, what is your secret to looking so fantastic at NINETY????
John’s lacrosse has taken us to new parts of Atlanta this season and we have a new little tradition. We google the local bakery for wherever we’re headed and hit it up for an amazing breakfast. This one was called Best Dang Bakery and it lived up to it’s name!! It already makes me excited for Saturday!!
Look at this baby!!!! She was so hot after her walk that she just laid down right in the river.
We had the humbling opportunity to see little Wyatt’s wish being granted from the Make a Wish Foundation. It was emotional and moving and something that will stay with us for a long, long time. He wished for a sports court in his backyard so that he could play any time with his brothers and friends. <3
I’ve been working waaaaaaaay too much lately trying to catch up from our trip. If only every work day, meeting and training came with a cup of gummy bears… the world would be a sweeter place.
Okay, I’m savoring every hysterical word in Celia Rivenbark’s modern etiquette book. So much so that a piece of kale salad went down the wrong pipe at Whole Foods and caused quite a scene. PS. Their kale salad, cherry vanilla creme and toffee crusted pretzel is my current fave lunch out.
It’s been SO gorgeous in the neighborhood lately. We dined out on the patio at the club this week and it made me so beyond giddy for the pool to open, school to finish out and summer to finally get here!!!!
Ahhh, forget summer for now. Can it just be the weekend already?!
xoxo

Gin! That’s the answer to how the Queen looks so great at 90. Well, gin, millions of dollars, and people who do everything for her. There might be a little secret stash of something in that purse she refuses to let go of, also. We’ll probably never know.
bwahahaha… that purse!!! I know exactly what you’re talking about.
Did you know there is a special reason the Queen carries that purse everywhere, even when just meeting someone in Buckingham Palace? How she handles the purse and the placement of the purse lets her staff know when she is finished with the person(s) she is entertaining or meeting or to signal if she needs assistance of some kind. The Queen was a stunning young woman but she is one of the most beautiful older women I have seen. So hard to believe she is 90! And George is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I’m with you, I would die of cuteness overload receiving mail with his face on the envelope!
This is SO interesting!! I had no clue!!!
OK, So this kind of reminds me of sorority rush in college… we had certain hand signals when we needed to switch to a new conversation with a new potential new member… instead of them ringing a bell or something to switch. Did anyone else do that?
Oh my gosh, I can barely remember yesterday much less rush :-) I can’t wait for others to weigh in though!!!
Love your musings posts! And yes, gummy bears make everything better.
I couldn’t agree more about thank you notes!
And goodness, if you already think boys are strange, sweetie – just wait until they’re 13. I say to at least one person a day how strange 13 year old boys are. ?
Elsa is too sweet (!), 40s are turning out to be so much better than I’d anticipated, your outfits are always the bees knees – love the colors!, that George is a DOLL!, we’re gonna have to try your bakery plan, who DOESN’T love gummi bears?, and that book is already on my list! And finally, last but not least, always love musings posts!
Hope your weekend is fab! xo
Ahhhhh 13!!!!! I’m looking to you for tons of good tips :-)
Love seeing all your musings Amanda. And I totally agree about thank you notes. Another friend and I were talking about how all sorts of etiquette have disappeared from the modern day world. Thanks too for sharing the potatoes in the crock pot…I would not have thought of that but makes complete sense. I love my crock pot…I call it my maid!!
Precious Wyatt. I was thinking of him the other day. God bless him. I will send you an email this week regarding him.
You’re musings are always delightful. :-)
How did your race weekend go? Love a post on that. Just got back from Disneyland and appreciated your posts. It was so crowded. Is the Magic Kingdom in Florida every that crowded? When do you think is the best time to go Disney World? Thank you for your help!
It was great! I need to pull together my posts on that!! Yes, MK in FL is crowded too this time of the year. My favorite times to go are Jan/Feb (not on holiday or race weekends), late september and early december. The first week of June is also an ok time to go.
