Father’s Day

I’m popping in after a long day of lacrosse and celebrating Honey to wish the three dads in our family the happiest of Father’s Days!

Daddy-O is the leader of the pack.  He immersed himself in raising two daughters and is now a father to Honey who lost his own dad seven years ago, father in law to Sister’s Mister, and “ampa” or “epaw” to his four grands.  He’s funny and wise and grateful and honest and smart and kind and gracious.  I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.  I love him to the moon and back and will always, always be Daddy’s girl.

It’s hard to even know where to start with Honey.  He always wanted to be a dad, and it comes so naturally to him.  I admire his patience and kindness every single day.  I think the fact that if you ask either of my boys about how they envision their life as an adult that they will both include “being a daddy just like daddy” says it all.

The righteous man walks in his integrity;
His children are blessed after him.
Proverbs 20:7

Happy Father’s Day, guys.  I am so very lucky to call y’all mine.

  1. I second Jane and will add – you and your family are tremendously blessed with the men in your live so. Happy Father’s Day to all of them! xo

  2. Dear Amanda, I was just again reading your past “Daddy-O” post and had never noticed how much John looks like him! It’s amazing! I just have to ask if the first photo, of the young man outside, in the white Oxford shirt, is your father because HE looks so much like your Honey! Obviously, I have insomnia tonight (!) but always find it so incredible how deep our genes run…and why on earth do I need to know this?! :-) XOXO

    1. Awww… yes, that is Daddy-O in that pic from the old post. Yes, it is funny how deep genes run. I always love your thoughts :-) xo

  3. Thank you, Amanda. You are so sweet to answer my earth-stopping question! ;-) I am not sure if I hit the send button on my first note to you this morning but just wanted to say thanks. Knowing this is your dear and wonderful father, I can go on with my life now! :-). My mother is in my own mirror and I believe it’s one of God’s special miracle messages. Have a great day, friend.
