Scenes Around Some Beach

I have some bad news, y’all.  I have NO pictures of Sister’s beach house to share.  We just really lived in the place – toys and legos and drinks and clothes and wet towels everywhere.  We *talked* about picking up for pictures, but then we just sat on the porch and read our books and drank champagne in our swim suits and jammies.  The guys only stayed for the first weekend and then had to get back to Atlanta.  So, the rest of the week it was Sister, Mother and I, the four littles, and Stevie the new puppy.  We truly had the best time.

… and many memories made.  When we stopped our annual Rosemary Beach trip last year I was pretty sad for letting go of something we’d done for the past 8 years.  But being back home, on the beach where we grew up, is so much better than I’d ever imagined.

Thanks for having us Sister!  We look forward to many many more summers at Some Beach.

xoxo

  1. Noooooooo! ;-)

What joy! This reminds me so much of priceless vacations with my beloved grandparents, who lived in Boca Raton. There’s nothing like those memories. Your smiles say it all.

  2. Is Some Beach a rental? We have been wanting to get property on the coast but waffle between downtown and Tybee. Since we live in the burbs (Kennesaw) it would be nice to have a “city place” to visit sometime and be able go walk to bars/brunch. But walking to the beach is pretty tempting too…

    1. No, it’s my Sister’s place. I think it depends on what time of year you go. If mostly in the summer I’d do the beach. Otherwise downtown is more favorable, in my opinion :-) But, if you are looking for a place to rent out to others, the beach might be better. Most people in town use the many hotels and inns.

      1. That’s really good insight! I didn’t even think about hotels/inns as competition- I have just been comparing AirB&B type rentals. Thanks for the reply. :)

  3. Good for you. So glad you get to relax with family. You deserve it. Wonderful, beautiful family. You must be so proud of all of them. The kids are always dressed so darn cute. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.

  4. Girl, you know we are lusting after pictures of Sister’s house! Next time, ok? :) Sounds like a perfectly perfect week. The kids look sun-kissed and happy!

  5. Our family went for the 1st time to Tybee June 24-July 1st. (We live in Mt Pleasant, near Charleston, SC). We stayed on North Beach in the Lighthouse condos and it was nice. I am glad we stayed on North Beach instead of South Beach. South was a mad house the Saturday we arrived! My 14 yr old took surf lessons with Tybee Surf School and loved it. I was wondering if there would even be waves, but it was great. We went to the lighthouse and the museum too. We love Tybee now. As we rode around I looked to see if I saw Some Beach, but didn’t. I was really just enjoying looking around the island. It is so nice there. I used some of your recommendations for things to do and restaurants. Thanks! Glad you had a nice vacation too.
