Happy Sunday, y’all! It’s SO hard to believe it is August and that we are back to school here in Georgia. I’ve got a round-up of random musings for y’all and then we are off to the pool for the afternoon before settling into our dinner, bath, read, bed routine after a lazy summer of no routine.
When Mother and Daddy-O were in town a couple of weeks ago, we spent a lovely rainy afternoon on the porch playing Rook. It’s easier than Spades and a whole lot of fun. I can’t wait to do it again!!
The off-the-menu “pink drink” at Starbucks remains my summer fave. It’s really just a cute name for the strawberry acai refresher made with coconut milk. Yum!
I did try the newest caramel blah-blah-blah-can’t-recall-the-rest-of-the-redic-name drink and it was YUMMY too. I only hit up Starbucks when Mother is in town (Daddy-O keeps her card loaded) or when meeting a friend so it’s unusual that I leave an old fave to try something new.
I’ve been churning out cute and colorful things in the shop. Recent faves are the pineapple and crab designs!
Remember my hydrangea flower arrangement and video blog? It moved from the powder room to the den and lasted two weeks. I’ll be telling you how on a new video coming soon!
I really have no words for this. Just wanted to share a snippet of real life.
I still have an iphone 5 and it’s always running out of space. This is usually the reason why. But seriously, how could I delete that???? Honey doesn’t get it.
We’re still churning through the summer bucket list. I keep thinking about doing an update, but we gave ourselves through Labor Day to finish and I really abhor unfinished business. :-) John was pretty pleased to shadow me at work last week.
Do you ever think about the term a “beautiful mess”? To me, this is a beautiful mess. To Daddy-O it would be a very bad break-neck type sitch that necessitated an immediate remedy :-) I love kids being kids more than anything. And, I love having a house full of boys playing and being boys. There are only so many days that we get with our kids at home and I think this is more beautiful than a perfectly staged home any day.
Bestie E has a new pool and it’s fabulous. We have a tradition of spending at least one lazy summer day at her house and the fact that she added a pool this year really kicked up the fun factor.
Sadly, my littles gave up on the opening ceremonies after about five minutes. Let’s just say that I was happy to learn that they countries would come out based on their Spanish spelling, bumping us up to the E’s rather than the U’s. But, Honey and I really do LOVE the olympics. I’m so excited for diving and gymnastics!!!
We watched soccer yesterday with bestie E. Her husband is from France so it was the perfect event to pop some bubbly and cheer on Team USA. Or Team France. Depending on where your loyalties lie. Where DO they lie, G?!
Honey tried out the Sittin Chicken on the Big Green Egg this week. Meh…. a good chicken but took a long time. Mother and Daddy-O also gave him the sittin turkey so he’s dying to try that one. I’m not a huge turkey fan so I bought stuff for burgers instead. The one who grocery shops gets to make the menu. ha!
With that, it’s nearly time for lunch and the pool!! Hope y’all have a Sunday funday.

Always love musings posts!
I am not a huge Starbucks fan – it’s horribly overpriced to me, so much like you I’m only there on occasion, usually meeting a friend. I’ve never strayed from a misto or latte, but that “pink drink looks yummy! I am loving the new video series – can’t wait to see the next one!! My “most interesting man in the world” went through a faze (when he was much younger) of believing he WAS a dog – and he slept in the crate, which the dog never slept in. So, this cracks me up! And the faces of John, haha, love it! I have the same beautiful mess all the time, and I love it. All too soon there will be no mess and I just am not going to think about that. Sadly, no one here watches the Olympics *gasp* it’s been described as boring, sooo… and while I love roasted chicken on the BGE, it does take a horribly long time. It is tasty…
We are back to school tomorrow and have nothing planned today other than getting ready for tomorrow. I love summer but everyone is ready for back to routine. Enjoy your day!
Awww, you enjoy your last day too. So sad, right?! I will miss all of your summer fun exploring GA on IG. xo
Ha, I had to laugh at all the boys antics and beautiful messes. I grew up with 3 brothers, good times. The opening ceremonies lost me after team USA entered. Too long!! Hope the weather holds out for the pool. Thundering here.
We just got a new BGE so I love, love, love when you share recipes (and just your meal ideas!) I’m looking forward to the next episode of Honey cooks on the BGE ;)
We call them ‘Drunk Chickens’ (or beer can chicken) here in Louisiana. They’re a staple at all our barbecues but since That Man doesn’t care for the BGE – I know, right? – he cuts the top off an actual beer can, sips enough out of it to make room for 1/2 an onion and then places the can into some metal contraption he just had to have. It does make for some delicious chicken as long as I don’t see him pull that can from the south end of the chicken. That sight just ruins it for me!
Love! ♥
