Home for the Holidays {Gingerbread Soiree}

Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans.  John turned up with a stomach bug the morning we were leaving for Savannah.  I was so paranoid that it would run through the house! Luck was on our side and he was really only down for 24 hours.  So, with that one delay we were on the road home.

We dropped our stuff and Mother and Daddy-O’s and headed to Sister’s place at Tybee for the day.  She had everything decorated fabulously.

And she had things set up for the littles’ annual gingerbread house decorating soiree!

She used wrapping paper for a festive, inexpensive and practical table runner and just decorated with the candy for the houses.  She always adds to the candy that comes in the kits.  The iced gingerbread men were a big hit this year.

Here we go!

The ladies all took turns helping CeeCee.  I told Sister that we need our own houses next year. HA!

John makes it his mission each year to use as much candy on his house as possible.  They all turned out really cute!

After the houses we feasted on Honey Baked Ham and all sorts of sides from Papa’s.  Yum!!

Sister found these darling Be Merry containers for to-go candy.  She divvied up all of the extras.

And then they begged to immediately dive into their houses for dessert.  Cookie turned his into a gingerbread laptop.  We all were hysterical.  You see, his brother wrote an entier song about him and his electronics.  The key line is “he’s an addict, addict”.  So we all thought this was perfect.

And then the laptop became a gun.  Boys!

It was such a fun day and we were so happy to have immediately dived right in to the Christmas festivities!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
