Seeing Santa

We made our way down to Phipps Plaza to see the quintessential Atlanta Santa for the 12th year in a row last weekend!  I forgot to make our reservation over fall break and we were left being squeezed in where they could fit is.  It was all so last minute that I failed to get hair cuts or print their cute little lists off.  Neither of which bothered anyone but me :-)

They each had exactly one thing on their list.  John some fancy shoes and Whit a hover board.  So…. that doesn’t leave a whole lot of room for error.

The convo with Santa was short and sweet, given the brevity of their lists.

I can still remember John screaming bloody murder the first time he sat in front of this tree.  Whit has always been way too laid back and comfortable with strangers to have ever been bothered by it.  (I got a lot of questions when I posted their pic on Instagram about their clothes.  The blazers and pants are all Land’s End.  That is my fave line for good, classic boy clothes that is pretty affordable.)

We skipped the Pink Pig this year.  I wasn’t going to press my luck.  Instead, we took them to Maggiano’s for the first time.  They LOVED it!  And, just like that, I think a new Christmas tradition was made.

These are the days…

  1. So cute! I love John’s shoes. So would my son- do you mind sharing the source?

Special thoughts and prayers for you this week.

    1. Thank you so so much <3

We picked them up at rack room on the way to see Santa :-). He wears men’s size 7.5 now! (Gasp). Lots more to choose from than in the boys section.

  2. Handsome boys!

It seems every year brings a new tradition these days… I am trying my best to soak it all in. These are the days, indeed! xo

  3. I love these pictures and sure miss the days when my kids were seated on Santa’s lap and whispering their secret wishes to him.
These pictures are memory makers for sure. xo Diana

ps- Love Land’s End for kids-the stuff wears like iron.

    1. Very expensive shoes called Ultra Boost …. the price tag makes them fancy to me. HA! He would probably hate that I referred to them as that.

  4. Maggiano’s chopped salad!! I googled the dressing and keep a bottle made at all times, so light and fresh.

p.s. Your powers of persuasion must be extraordinary to get John to sit for a picture with Santa!

    1. It is SO good! Oh, no way… he was happy to do it. This Santa is crazy – there are always “kids” in the line from newborn until college age! He was right in the middle of the pack. Besides, little brother still believes :-)
