Merry Christmas

It is so hard to believe these two are celebrating their 10th and 13th Christmases. I will treasure these days – where we all gather in Savannah to do nothing but talk, laugh, play and eat for days on end. I never want to forget the sweet sounds of cousins and siblings waking up at the crack of dawn to rush and see what Santa brought. We get so few Christmas mornings when the kids are home, before they fly the nest to start traditions of their own. I pray that they look back fondly on their childhood Christmases. I know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that I will.

As for last night, as soon as it quieted down in the bunk room we were running around like elves. One of our best traditions for the adults is our Christmas Eve wrapping party. We honestly have the best time – it’s not often that we get just adult time – and we stay up to all hours of the night. Mother baked our Christmas dinner cake, Daddy-O worked on the puzzle, and the rest of us wrapped gift upon gift upon gift.

The kids were up by 6 AM this morning, and we held them off until about 7 AM so that we could all wake up and get down at least one cup of coffee. It was another wonderful and memorable Christmas in the books. I sincerely hope that you and yours can say the same.

Merry Christmas!

  1. Christmas time is such a special time! I believe we live on after we are gone in the memories of others! What a special memory you are giving your children! Merry Christmas!!

  2. Hurray for the wrapping party! 😄✂🎀🎁However, I am perplexed that the single malt scotch has been replaced by Kentucky bourbon.🙃

    Have a happy day!

    1. Well the ladies had bubbly but this is apparently a very nice, hard to get bottle. 😳. The men were quite pleased that my brother in law got one! 😃

  3. I had a feeling that might be the case! Bravo to Mister Sister and a Happy New Year to all.

Your sugared cranberries are lovely on your Mother’s beautiful cake!
