Every year Mother orchestrates an ornament craft with the grands over Christmas break at her house. This year they made cupcake ornaments in honor of CeeCee’s role as a cupcake in her very first Nutcracker!
Cupcake Ornament Craft
You’ll need:
- Silicon cupcake liners (she spray painted these gold)
- Clear plastic ornament ball
- Assorted pom pom balls
- Chopstick or other tool
- Ribbon
- Hot Glue
Start by filling the ornament with the pom pom balls. Use a chopstick to assist in pushing them through the opening.
Have an adult run a rim of hot glue around the inside edge of the cupcake, about 1/2″ down from top. Carefully press the ornament down into the liner.
Tie ribbon or string for hanging.
Add a cherry pom pom on top. (Whit opted out of this step.)
My boys have years and years of these ornaments on their trees at home. We always sign and date the bottoms to look back on. I love this Christmas tradition. <3
DIXIE DELIGHTS DELIVERED
That’s a very sweet tradition. ❤️
This is such a fun tradition – something they will treasure in the years to come! xo
These are adorable! I may adopt this idea for my Valentine’s Day activities with our neighborhood children. 🤗❤
