We’ve done a lot of countdowns for all sorts of things over the years, and this one is SO easy that it’s been going on for eight years, since John was in Kindergarten, without fail.
Starting a couple of weeks before the end of the school year, I fill up a snack sized zip top bag with one m&m candy for each day left of the school year. Whit carries his lunch to school so I just ask him to leave the zip top in his bag rather than throwing it away each day. John started buying his lunch every day in middle school, so he gets his on the kitchen counter each morning with his breakfast.
I don’t know about y’all, but I am READY for summer! Whit is on the neighborhood swim team and will be playing summer baseball for the first time. John is playing lacrosse. All of that should be over by the end of June. While we do still have plenty going on, nothing will require the alarm clock. Yay!!!
