Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind launches in Epcot May 27!! I had the good fortune to attend a press event earlier this month that included an exclusive sneak peek of the attraction. If I had to sum it up in two words: IT’S AWESOME!
This family-thrill attraction features the first ever reverse-launch on a Disney coaster and is one of the largest fully-enclosed coasters in the world! A new innovation from Walt Disney Imagineering—this coaster rotates 360 degrees so you can focus on the action!
- Height requirement 42″
- The attraction is like a mix of Space Mountain (dark and fast), Rock n Rollercoaster (great music) and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (smooth coaster).
- The attraction does not have “scary” elements. Nothing reaches or grabs for you and there are no drops.
- I had a lot of questions on motion sickness on social media. Every person is different so know what triggers yours. I have trouble with most attractions at Universal and only Mission Space at Disney. I also have motion sickness in the car at times. I tend to feel it most on an empty stomach. We enjoyed a big meal just before heading to Guardians. I rode it twice, back to back, without any motion sickness whatsoever.
Begin your adventure by touring the Galaxarium—a planetarium-like exhibition showcasing the similarities and differences between Xandar and Earth’s galaxies. You’ll even get to discover some of the incredible wonders of Xandar and learn about their technology.
Just as you are about to reach the culmination of the tour, everything goes sideways, and you are called into action to help the Guardians of the Galaxy. Join Rocket, Groot, Gamora and Star-Lord on an urgent mission where you’ll rewind, rotate and head towards the action through an exciting space pursuit.

How to Experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
You will need a park ticket and park reservation for Epcot to experience this attraction. There will not be a stand-by line initially. The three ways to get on the ride are Virtual Queue, Individual Lightning Lane purchase and book a Private VIP Tour.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Virtual Queue
7:00 AM
Beginning at 7 a.m. daily, guests with a valid ticket or pass and a Disney Park Pass Reservation for EPCOT will be able to check for an available boarding group via the My Disney Experience app and request access to the virtual queue. This can be done before you leave your Resort hotel or on your way to the park.
1:00 PM
At 1 p.m., there will be another opportunity to join the virtual queue for anyone who wasn’t able to join a boarding group earlier in the day. Keep in mind, guests must be inside EPCOT to access this second virtual queue opportunity.
6:00 PM Virtual queue during extended evening hours
Registered guests staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort or other select hotels will have an additional opportunity to request to join the virtual queue at 6 p.m. on select dates during extended evening theme park hours. Guests with this benefit do not need to be in EPCOT to request to join at that time. Guests will need valid admission and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day to experience extended evening hours — or, guests may experience extended evening hours if they have a ticket or annual pass with the Park Hopper option and first enter the park where they made their reservation. In order to give as many guests as possible the opportunity to save the galaxy, each guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day during regular park hours.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Individual Lightning Lane Entry
Guests with valid park admission and a park reservation can purchase individual Lightning Lane entry in the My Disney Experience app* via the Disney Genie service on the same day of their visit, subject to availability. After you’ve experienced Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, don’t forget about your attraction photo! There will be two options to have your attraction photo automatically linked to your My Disney Experience account:
- Use your mobile device. Enable Bluetooth® for the My Disney Experience app* before riding, ensure you’ve logged into the app sometime earlier that day, and keep your device out of low power mode. Then, just put your device in your pocket or bag while you enjoy the ride.*
- Wear a MagicBand that is linked to your My Disney Experience account.

I had to share with yall the fun photos of the party I was able to attend with Glass Slipper Concierge. Every detail was so perfect – from the music to the food to the lighting.
We headed back into the Guardians of the Galaxy area just as the sun was setting over Epcot.
The food and especially presentation of the food was out of this world!
We enjoyed the best “mix tape” DJ and fun special effects late into the night.
