Honey and I made the trek over to Bernhard’s German Bakery a couple of weekends ago to pick up a friend’s favorite type of cake for her birthday! Well, we left with bags of goodies, in addition to the cake.
We started with a couple of loaves of the pretzel bread – one for us and one for another friend. Oh my! I had it sliced for sandwiches and the boys were completely spoiled for their first week of school lunches.
I also added a loaf of their sourdough and had it thick sliced to serve alongside the ricotta dip I made for the evening. You can find that recipe HERE.
We grabbed two pretzels for the boys and those were gone within minutes of walking in the door.
Linzer cookies are my absolute, all time favorite!!!! I gobbled this up on the way home.
And, finally, the Princess Cake that is a favorite of the birthday girl!! I didn’t grab a photo of it at our soiree, but here is one from her pandemic birthday porch party. This was from Bernhard’s too!
The boys have been begging for more pretzel bread and we noted they also sell a wide variety of sausages and soups. I feel like another jaunt to Berhard’s is in my near future!!
