Kitchen Update 2.0 {Society Social Faux Grasscloth Goes In}

I said I wouldn’t have another kitchen update for a few weeks, but here we are one day later. Ever since the Society Social faux grasscloth wallpaper arrived I’ve been chomping at the bit to do something with it.

Well, I had a couple of hours free Saturday and dug right in. I watched a couple of youtube videos and used this $7 kit from amazon.

Since this part of the kitchen was not newly painted or in need of paint, it was my only option to move forward right away. Since I was dealing with relatively small spots here, I quickly determined it was easier to cut the wallpaper before I put it up, rather than after.

Here’s the before:

And here’s the after!

I moved all of my white china to the dining room cabinet, and pulled all of my blue and white pieces out to put on display. I love this little change so far!

The paper was nice and thick, easy to reposition and lightly textured. It looks perfect!! It was so simple to do, and I even covered the light switch covers. The first video above was great at explaining how to cut around things like fixtures and switches.

I am so happy with how this turned out. I hope it holds up!

I have to wait at least 30 days on the new kitchen buffet wall, and another couple of weeks to do inside the two new cabinets.
