Our 23rd Anniversary

Twenty-three years ago today I walked down this beautiful aisle to exchange I Dos with Honey. It’s gone by in a blink.

I had no idea back in 2002 what May was like with children. Ha! We’ve spent more anniversaries than I can count at a ball field, concert or even grad party. This year it was Cee’s recital! She was GORGEOUS! Afterwards we enjoyed sushi at one of our local faves.

We share a mutual love of many “simple” things. Reading, murder mystery shows, cheering on our home teams and kid sports teams, Georgia Tech and now Auburn, cards and puzzles, Disney, Alanis Morisette and Zac Brown, movie nights, game nights, seafood and sushi, road trips, seeing the USA, sudoku, costume parties, pool lounging and math.

Honey is smart, hardworking and honest.  He’s also so incredibly patient and tenderhearted and kind.  And I think he’s terribly handsome.  Some days I can hardly believe he’s mine – I still remember the first time I laid eyes on him on my first day of college and he just turned FIFTY three days ago!

I look forward to growing very, very old with this man.  After all, who else would put up with all that ^^ :-)

Happy 23 years, Honey!

  1. Congratulations! Here’s to many, many more! Please share just one more photo of your wedding. I know I’m not the only one who would love to see your cake or maybe something else from your special day. Your church photo always reminds me of The Sound of Music! You look just like Maria. 😀❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️ Jane 🌴

  2. Girl! We need a TBT photo of you young lovebirds in all you 1990s splendor please.

Happy Anniversary! Wishing you many more.

  3. Happy Anniversary! My husband graduated from grad school on December 15 (many years ago) and we married on December 28. Like you, I didn’t think about future anniversaries with Christmas and New Years celebrations along with grown children coming home then plus extended family celebrations. (Last year our daughter flew back to her home in NYC on our anniversary) We have started celebrating at the beginning of January after life settles down from the holidays!

    1. Sounds like the perfect plan!! I told Honey we need to start celebrating in April before the May-crazy hits. :-)
