Today I’m sharing the heart of the home: our kitchen! I love adding festive touches here, and since my Blue Willow china is always on display, layering in pops of red and a few flags just makes sense.

A happy vase of fresh flowers feels right for any holiday, and I’ve pulled out a treasured table runner I’ve had for decades. My USA letter dishes are also out and ready – they’ll be filled with candy closer to the holiday, but for now I’m sparing myself from having to keep my furry children out of it!

Over on the beverage bar, I added patriotic drink stirrers, straws, and napkins for a fun and functional display. Our shaved ice set up has earned a permanent summer spot – it’s a crowd favorite! The festive napkin holder and mini flag are by Nora Fleming, while the plate and attachment are from Happy Everything! See more about my LED lights here and find the wood tray here.

Festive dish towels are such an easy and functional way to spruce up the kitchen for any holiday or celebration.

And, a bakery treat with themed picks

I also popped a Happy Everything! flag attachment onto my white frame and swapped in a favorite photo from when the boys were little. I’ll forever be glad I dressed them in john johns and smocking while I could. Those days were short but oh so sweet. A simple dish of DumDums adds just the right amount of whimsy. And lastly, I added a red cookbook to the tray by the stove – proof that a simple pop of color can go a long way.

Tomorrow, I’ll be back with patriotic touches in the dining room!
