There isn’t a time of year when I love the outside of our home more than the Fourth of July. I try to have my patriotic décor up by Flag Day and keep it out through the end of July to soak up every bit of that stars-and-stripes spirit! One of my favorite simple joys is walking our neighborhood this time of year, seeing so many homes proudly flying the flag, with curbs lined in tiny banners and buntings galore.

On our front porch, I created a layered look with two smaller buntings flanking a larger one in the center. The darling firecracker door hanger is a Bronwyn Hanahan piece from so long ago. I adore her cheerful designs for every holiday and wish she still made them! I’ve tucked little American flags into my ferns ever since I saw Martha Stewart do it nearly twenty years ago, and of course the pups got matching bows too.

Over on our rarely used side entry, I added a bunting along the porch railing.

At our friends’ entry, I hung a matching bunting and my monogrammed anchor… one of my favorite DIYs from years ago. You can find all the details for that project in THIS POST.

A little red, white, and blue goes a long way in making summer memories feel extra special. Wishing you all a happy and sparkly long weekend!
