For the past few years, I’ve hosted a Mom’s Merry Little Night Out – Favorite Things Christmas party and it has always been such a highlight of the season. This year, knowing I wanted to gather my mahjong girls for something festive, it just made sense to combine the two. There’s so much overlap in the group already, and truly, any excuse to be together during December is a good one.

We decided to skip playing mahjong this month and instead lean fully into the spirit of the season. Everyone brought a “favorite thing” for a gift exchange, and the rest of the night unfolded just the way the best evenings do. Good food. Festive cocktails. Easy laughter. Friendship and fellowship that filled the house. (Sadly we didn’t manage to snap a pic until after some of our group had already departred)

The gift exchange itself was so much fun! With Black Friday sales the week before our party, several of us were able to stretch the budget just a bit and bring even nicer surprises while still staying right around that $20–25 range.
There were some truly great finds in the mix.
- Tyler Glam Wash made an appearance, because it always does and always should.
- A Madeca Time Reverse Cream found a very happy new home and was the most coveted gift.
- La Marca Prosecco showed up dressed to impress with a Beau Bottle Wrap.
- One of my favorite gifts was a thoughtful self-care kit complete with bubbles, cranberries, chocolate, and fresh eucalyptus to hang in the shower. So simple and so lovely.

- Mahjong Christmas cups felt especially perfect for this group.
- A grown-up snackle box, complete with an assortment of snacks was so creative and a favorite gift from an avid traveler in the group.
- A mini crock pot was fun, with the intent of being able to heat up your lunch on cold winter days.
- A rotary cheese grater is now on my own list seeing as I sliced my hand on my manual one just this week.
- A heated throw made the rounds. I have this exact one and love it!
- I brought Goodr sunglasses as I love them myself. They were one of the most stolen gifts.
- One friend brought a Diamond Dazzle Stick paired with pillow spray and face masks.
- A Thymes Frasier Fir candle brought that unmistakable Christmas scent we all love.

It was one of those nights that reminds me why I love hosting during the holidays. Not because everything is perfect, but because it’s meaningful. I’m already smiling thinking about next year.
