When we bought our Tempur-Pedic split king earlier this year, I quickly realized that a new bed configuration also meant buying new sheets. A few friends recommended PeachSkinSheets, so I decided to give them a try.
Six months later, I liked them enough to buy a second set, which is probably the most useful review I can give.
First, they are surprisingly affordable, especially compared to some of the luxury bedding options out there. They are very soft and comfortable to sleep on, and they have washed incredibly well. Since sheets in our house are washed constantly, I care just as much about how they come out of the laundry as how they feel the first night you put them on the bed. These have held up beautifully and are easy to wash, dry and put right back into rotation.
They’ve also worked really well with our split king setup. Finding bedding for two separate mattresses adds one more consideration to an already slightly complicated bed situation, and I’ve been very happy with how these fit and stay put.
If I had one criticism, I do wish the fabric had a little more heft to it. I tend to love that substantial, crisp feeling of really beautiful hotel bedding, and these are definitely lighter and softer rather than weighty and crisp. That hasn’t stopped me from enjoying them, though. As I said, I went back and bought another set, so clearly it wasn’t a deal breaker.
Would my dream linen closet be filled with Frette sheets? Of course it would. Ideally, that fantasy also includes someone arriving at my house every other week to wash and iron them before making the bed with perfectly crisp hospital corners. If we’re dreaming, we might as well dream big.
Until that person appears on my doorstep, PeachSkinSheets have turned out to be a really good everyday option. They’re comfortable, easy to care for, reasonably priced and have held up well enough that I was happy to spend my own money on them a second time.
At 50, apparently I’ve reached the stage of life where a fabulous mattress and good sheets qualify as very exciting purchases. I’m perfectly fine with that.
