Haunted Halloween Home Tour 2026 {Kitchen + Mud Room}

Welcome to my Halloween kitchen! While I love a good spooky Halloween moment in the den and living room, I keep things a little more cute and friendly in the kitchen.

One of my favorite things about decorating for Halloween is pulling out the little treasures I’ve collected over the years. I don’t reinvent the wheel each October, but I do love seeing these familiar favorites make their annual appearance.

Swapping out just a few everyday items for Halloween makes a surprisingly big impact in the kitchen. The little rug in front of the sink, for example, is one I’ve had for more than 20 years and takes just a second to put out. Even pulling an appropriately colored cookbook off the shelf counts as decorating in my book!

My Happy Everything frame is another longtime favorite. I love swapping out the attachments and pictures throughout the year. Of course, seasonal candy is always one of my favorite ways to decorate for any holiday. The gold hand and plate are old Target finds.

This darling Bath & Body Works Wallflower is one of my favorite little Halloween surprises. I was absolutely delighted when I discovered that it projects bats onto the wall behind it. It’s such a fun touch!

At the sink, I rely on two of my favorite holiday decorating standbys: seasonal soaps and dishtowels! Williams Sonoma’s Pumpkin Spice scent has been a longtime favorite around here, and it makes the kitchen smell heavenly.

A few years ago, I accidentally filled the fruit bowl with candy corn colored fruit, and now it’s become a tradition. Oranges for snacks all October long! There were originally lemons in this arrangement too, but I needed them for a lemon cake before I could snap pics.

One of the things I continue to love most about our kitchen is the little dining and beverage bar area we updated a couple of years ago. It has been such a wonderful change for our family, both for everyday life and entertaining.

For this little arrangement, I tied ribbons around a pumpkin container I’ve had for ages. The flowers are actually arranged in a large cup that fits right inside, so the pumpkin stays in perfect condition. Orange and yellow blooms are just right for Halloween!

The coffee area gets a little Halloween makeover too. I still adore these Mickey ghost mugs that we brought home as Disney souvenirs many years ago. They are some of my favorite things to pull out every October!

We use our big kitchen island for absolutely everything, so I try to keep the decorations here to a minimum. My Mickey treat bowl, another Disney souvenir, is just the right amount of Halloween without getting in the way.

I found these adorable light-up Mickey and Minnie pumpkins at Publix and tossed them in the buggy when Honey wasn’t looking. Minnie originally had a purple bow, but I painted it black to better match my kitchen. I love these two!

I think I enjoy decorating the kitchen almost more than any other room in the house. It really is the heart of our home, and these happy little Halloween touches make me smile every time I walk through.

Just off the kitchen, the mudroom gets a few Halloween touches of its own. Although the boys have long outgrown trick-or-treating, I still put out their old bags every year. I just can’t bring myself to pack away that little piece of childhood for good! Even the puppies get in on the fun with Halloween treats in their jar.

That’s a little peek at Halloween in our kitchen! I love that so many of these decorations have been part of our home for years. Sometimes the sweetest part of decorating for the holidays is simply bringing out the things that hold so many happy memories.

Happy Halloween, y’all!
