Halloween 2026 {Ghost Espresso Martinis & Favorite Traditions}

We had such a nice Halloween , and I thought I’d share a little peek at how we spent the day. Nothing too elaborate, just a wonderful mix of family, friends, favorite traditions and a few spooky sips!

We started the morning by sleeping in, which is always a treat! Whit joined us for breakfast at our favorite bagel spot, and then Honey and I made a grocery store run. Somewhere along the way, Whit ended up with a flat tire, so we added a little roadside assistance to our Halloween festivities. Haha!

The rest of the day was wonderfully relaxed. I did a little piddling around the house, watched some Netflix and even started making my Christmas decorating to-do list. I know, I know, Halloween wasn’t even over yet! But I do love this time of year, and I’m already excited to start decking the halls.

I also squeezed in some mahjong with the ladies and enjoyed a bowl of chili. A little mahj and a little comfort food seemed like the perfect way to spend a fall afternoon.

That evening, we joined some of our sweetest friends for our annual Halloween gathering. We’ve been celebrating together for the past few years, and I always look forward to it. Pizza and taco soup were on the menu, and Whit came along too!

We usually pile onto their trailer for a hayride through the neighborhood while the kids trick-or-treat, but we decided to skip that part this year. Our sweet puppies are needing a little extra attention right now, and we didn’t want to leave them for too long. More on that another day.

Of course, I couldn’t show up empty-handed! I made a batch of my favorite espresso martinis, but gave them a little Halloween makeover. These ghost espresso martinis turned out SO cute, and they were a big hit!

I used these little 3-ounce plastic glasses, which were the perfect size for a party cocktail. To make the ghosts, I used the back of a spoon to swipe a little marshmallow fluff along the inside of each glass, then added eyes and a mouth with a black Sharpie on the outside. So easy, and each little ghost had its own personality!

For transporting them, I used one of my favorite party platters with a lid. I use this thing all the time and love how versatile it is. I filled the bottom with ice, scattered in a few plastic spiders and nestled the mini glasses right on top. It kept everything together and made the cutest little Halloween presentation!

It’s funny how our Halloweens have changed over the years. There was a time when the entire day revolved around costumes, candy buckets and getting the boys out the door for trick-or-treating. These days, things are a little quieter, but I love that we still have traditions to look forward to and dear friends to celebrate with.

And now, with Halloween officially behind us, I am all about CHRISTMAS! I hope your Halloween was the happiest!
