The Last Hurrah

August 10, 2014August 11, 2015

Well, just like that the 74 days of summer vacation came and went. We crossed nearly everything off our summer bucket list, added a few extras to boot, and were left to just soak up the last dog day of summer. We swam, played a little corn hole and indulged in ice creams at the… Read More

Meet the Teacher {Free Printable}

August 7, 2014August 9, 2016

It’s terribly hard to believe that another school year is upon us!  The littles carried these little chocolate filled chalkboard topped treat jars to meet their new teachers… The baby was thrilled to find out he will be with Mrs. H – the very same teacher that he worked with for his entry assessment a… Read More

Summer Bucket List

August 6, 2014July 28, 2015

We have a little tradition of making our annual summer bucket list on the last day of school.  This year, we laid it all out on our basement chalkboard.   The littles were lofty with their goals, planning to cram a whole lot in to their 74 days of summer vacation! And looking back, I’d… Read More

School Days

August 5, 2014July 30, 2015

It felt a little surreal hanging this baby up on the front door last weekend.  I mean, how in the world is it already time to take down the summer crab in exchange for the big yellow bus?!?! This was one of the door hangers I’ve been eyeing on Bronwyn Hanahan’s site for a whole… Read More

Another Wall in the Office

August 4, 2014July 28, 2015

Well, I’ve finished up another wall of the family office!!  I spent the summer searching high and low (and had Mother and Paige hunting too) for the perfect vintage or antique piece to fit between the windows.  I wanted something with drawers for storage and ample room for a lamp as an alternative to the… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
