Musings

April 18, 2020April 19, 2020

Hello and Happy Saturday! It’s my biggest day of the week where I venture out for provisions and we order our one meal a week in. I saved this to my phone and I laugh every time I see it on my camera roll. I’d have to scratch out “momma” and write in “Daddy-O.” Speaking… Read More

Teen Super Bowl Party Nacho Bar

February 2, 2020February 7, 2021

John hosted his friends again for the Super Bowl. Man Day has become more like Teen Day around here, much to Honey’s dismay. :-) I decided to do a nacho bar this year since it is easy, tasty and can be prepared mostly in advance. Rather than doing it downstairs, I set it up in… Read More

On My Bedside {Behind Closed Doors}

January 9, 2020January 9, 2020

I am SO excited to share this book with y’all – Behind Closed Doors is one of the most thrilling, twisted, disturbing, page turner I’ve read in a LONG time. I want to stress the “disturbing” parts as there were certainly a couple of times when I thought I can’t keep reading this. Yet, there… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
