On My Bedside {The Wives}

May 12, 2021May 12, 2021

I just blew through The Wives by Tarryn Fisher. It was such a good, suspenseful book with a great twist. I recently shared it with a few other book nerds and they all agreed it’s a good read. It’s a great addition to your pool bag or summer trip packing list. Imagine that your husband… Read More

On My Bedside {The Sanatorium}

April 28, 2021April 21, 2021

Coming on the heels of Home Before Dark, another FABULOUS read in the mystery thriller genre was The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse. I devoured this book on Spring Break. I loved the characters and that The Sanatorium was a character on its own right. The author (her debut novel!) transported me to another time and… Read More

On My Bedside {Home Before Dark}

April 20, 2021April 21, 2021

I have enjoyed reading all of Riley Sager’s books and Home Before Dark was no exception. This one is part haunting suspense and psychological thriller. It isn’t terrifying or thought provoking but, rather, just a good entertaining tale. I looked forward to escaping to Baneberry Hall each evening while this was on my bedside. Today,… Read More

On My Bedside {The Giver of Stars}

March 24, 2021March 24, 2021

I almost didn’t stick with this one but boy am I glad I did! The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes started so slowly for me that I even did a little Instagram poll on whether or not it was a worthwhile read. By the point I reached the 1/4 way, I was completely hooked… Read More

On My Bedside {The Alice Network}

March 2, 2021March 2, 2021

I just finished up The Alice Network by Kate Quinn and loved every word on every page. It was emotional, suspenseful, perfectly tied to history and an overall winner in my mind. I loved the characters and felt sad to bid farewell to them in the end. 1947. In the chaotic aftermath of World War… Read More

Listening Lately {The Turn of the Key}

January 28, 2021January 28, 2021

Late last year I got hooked on audio books checked out for free through my local library and the Libby app. My usual podcasts just haven’t had a ton of new content and I am really enjoying audio books as an alternative. I typically listen (versus read) when I’m in the car, cleaning, doing laundry,… Read More

On My Bedside {House of Salt and Sorrows}

January 20, 2021January 13, 2021

For my latest read, I fell back into my favorite genre – young adult fiction. Haha! In all seriousness, House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig was a mesmerizing, evocative story that I very much enjoyed.  It’s a take on the old Twelve Dancing Princesses fairytale. Here, twelve beautiful sisters live together on… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
