On My Bedside {The Last Thing He Told Me}

March 29, 2022March 29, 2022

I recently read The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave and, despite pretty bad reviews, I enjoyed it! I don’t read a fiction thriller to dissect it. Rather, I read it for pure entertainment at the end of a long day, or while catching a few fleeting rays of winter sunshine. I liked… Read More

On My Bedside {The Rose Code}

March 22, 2022March 23, 2022

I recently finished The Rose Code by Kate Quinn and am sad it’s over. It is that wonderful kind of historical fiction that tells a fascinating story and effortlessly transports you to another place and time. I grew to love the characters and, once finished, found myself researching the women codebreakers in World War II.… Read More

Listening Lately {Such a Fun Age}

January 19, 2022January 21, 2022

I recently listed to the audio version of Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid and really enjoyed it. It was one of those books I had on in the car, while doing dishes, while walking, while making dinner, and so on and so forth. The narrator, Nicole Lewis, absolutely brought Emira to life, with… Read More

On My Bedside {Imaginary Friend}

January 11, 2022January 12, 2022

It’s been a while since I shared my recent reads, and they’ve piled up a bit! Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky was a page turner (mostly). It was suspenseful and intense. My only complaint is that it was too long – started strong and then could have ended just as strong if it didn’t get… Read More

Listening Lately {For Your Own Good}

November 17, 2021November 14, 2021

I’ve been catching up on things I’ve been reading and listening to lately and have another one to share today! I really enjoyed the audio book of For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing. I loved the setting (prestigious private school), characters (teachers, parents, students) and plot twists in this twisted psychological thriller. I somewhat… Read More

On My Bedside {Eight Perfect Murders}

November 10, 2021November 11, 2021

I recently finished Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson, a new to me author. This psychological thriller tells the story of a bookseller who finds himself at the center of an FBI investigation when a killer uses his list of fiction’s most ingenious murders as a reference guide. Years ago, bookseller and mystery aficionado Malcolm… Read More

On My Bedside {The Wrong Family}

November 2, 2021November 3, 2021

I just finished The Wrong Family by Tarryn Fisher and thoroughly enjoyed it! The storyline is unlike many in this genre, and it’s engaging, suspenseful and a true page-turner. I was hesitant to pick it at the get-go due to lackluster reviews. I’m really glad I gave it a chance. Have you ever been wrong… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
