Gobble, Gobble + A Winner

November 13, 2013July 28, 2015

I was so so so beyond excited when I came home to find this darling turkey hanging on my door.  I may or may not have shrieked with delight right there in my driveway.  It’s by Glory Haus and just couldn’t be any cuter!  I promptly moved him to the front door for the rest… Read More

Turkey Treat {Free Printable}

November 11, 2013August 1, 2015

I’m making these darling little Turkey Treats for the PCP’s teacher to send home on the last day before Thanksgiving break.  He has two classmates with nut allergies and, as far as I could tell, this is something everyone will be able to enjoy!  Bugles and Skittles are pint sized symbols of the season’s cornucopia.… Read More

Happy Thanksgiving

November 22, 2012July 28, 2015

Five years ago today, I gave birth to a perfect and beautiful but stillborn baby boy, Matthew.  Matthew.  His meager worldly memories fit in a shoe box, so it is his name that I cling to and use to assure myself that this day five years ago was real, that he was real.  And while… Read More

Thanksgiving Eve

November 22, 2012July 28, 2015

We’re wrapping up an exceptional Thanksgiving Eve around these parts.  I didn’t lift a finger as far as food prep for tomorrow… or do anything else truly worthwhile as far as those sorts of things go.  Instead, our little party of four spent the day jaunting around town on all sorts of fun outings.  Here’s… Read More

Ramblings

November 16, 2012July 28, 2015

I want to thank y’all for taking time this week to send so many kind, heartfelt and encouraging comments, emails and prayers to me, to sweet little Bird and to our family.  The outpouring of support through Bird’s surgery, and as we wait on his test results, has been gracious and heartening. (I sure hope… Read More

Thanksgiving Feast

November 9, 2012July 28, 2015

We attended the baby’s Thanksgiving Feast at school last night – in a delightful evening full of food, friends and fun!  I spent the last week siphoning all the chocolate candy out of the little’s Halloween loot in order to make these brownies I read about in Southern Living.  Essentially, you bake a batch of… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
