Peter Pan

“To live is an awfully big adventure.”  – Peter Pan

For Valentine’s Day, Honey treated me to a night out at the theater.  And not just any theater, but for the East coast premiere of the threesixty production of Peter Pan.

Honey and I don’t always see eye to eye on the topic of the fine arts.  But, the hundred year old story of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, the lost boys, Tinker Bell, Captain Hook and the Darling children is one that we both adore.  Who doesn’t!?!

Staged in a big white tent on the World of Coke property, the threesixty theater brings to life the magical world of Peter Pan.  The theater is just what you’d think – a round stage in a round tent with action occurring in all directions.  But what’s truly impressive is how the story unfolds with computer-generated imagery projected onto the walls of the tent, creating the illusion of Peter Pan’s virtual world.  Imagine Peter, Tinker Bell and the Darling children flying off to Neverland hand-in-hand while you see the London skyline over head and all around you.  Magnifique!

The actors were extraordinary, the set was dazzling, Tinker Bell was sassy and Peter Pan was dreamy.  And I got to soak it all in with Honey at my side.  I’d say it was a pretty perfect night for such an awfully big adventure!

Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all!
xoxo
