Itโs fall, yโall!ย Time for apple picking, cider sipping and hayย rides.ย Yeah right.ย Itโs pushing ninety degrees here in the Southย and hotter and sunnier than itโs been since May.ย Not that I’m complaining! ย I made my first appleย pie of the season last weekend to go with our BBQ feast, and thought it highย time I share this award winning recipe with yโall.ย (And by award winning, I totally mean in theย apple-pie-off I have with Mother about once a year.ย She will dispute this fact but donโt beย fooled.ย Mine is the family favorite.)

It's got to be the topping that puts this over the top. Yum!
Yum. With just a few substitutions iCanEat make this gluten free. Thanks for sharing! I would live to go apple picking this year. Elijay has a big festival.
Sounds delicious and looks amazing! Thanks for the recipe!
this looks amazing!! my hubby loves himself an apple pie and he loves caramel i think i just may have to attempt this little treat! it will be my sure way of getting some monogrammed goodies from the hubby ;)
Amanda, my mom in Chatsworth would probably let you come and pick apples.lol…Their small orchard had a bumper crop this year. She has peeled, cut and dried apples for the last month. I cannot wait to have one of her fried apple pies! Seriously, Ellijay is a great apple place but very crowded. That caramel apple pie looks yummo…I thought it was a pecan pie at first but after seeing the recipe I get it!!
Looks delicious! No sign of Fall here in Florida..97 degrees. Thanks for linking to the Open House party.
xx,
Sherry
We've picked apples in Ellijay at Hilltop Orchards. Nice, but very crowded. There are several other orchards in Ellijay as well, but I haven't tried them. We have also picked apples at an orchard in Blue Ridge, GA. We enjoyed that one too, but can't remember the name.
Georgia is SO HOT but I'm willing it to cool off. I'm bringing out the fall things anyway! ;) That apple pie looks FABULOUS.
I want to go apple picking! Jay and CeeCee have apple outfits from 1st day of school that they need to wear again!!!
That sounds WAY too good and like I could eat the whole pie! Easy, too. Thanks!!! xo Diana
I am not usually an apple pie person but this sounds so good. I am going to be trying this out for sure!
Cynthia
Yay!!! When you posted about it the other day I was hoping a recipe would be coming soon :). Thanks for sharing.
My family has often gone to Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge/Morganton area. It's worth the drive, especially because downtown Blue Ridge now has cute shops & places to eat!

Well, darling Amanda, you have thrown down the gauntlet once again! Just name the place/date and I will wow with my traditional apple pie, that doesn't need any caramel or pecans to reign supreme!!!
Love, Marme
Yummy and pretty picture of your recipe!
