Last week I unearthed a great coastal bird print that I purchased a while back and never used. Well, one thing led to another and before I knew it I was tinkering with the bar we have hidden away in our living room armoire. It’s looked like this for the last four years…
Using all things I already had around the house, I test drove the new look with y’all on instagram. I hung the left over teal grass cloth in the back, pulled the Ballard knockoff sunburst mirror from the guest room, and test drove an Ikea Ribba frame for the bird.
After living with it for a few days, I pressed forward by gold leafing the ikea frame using Rub ‘n Buff in Gold Leaf.
And I loved it SO much, that Honey and Daddy-O took the doors off and removed the hardware!!! It’s crazy what this easy and “free” fix did to brighten up the end of that room!!
Here’s the before…
… and the new after!
Now, who wants to come have a cocktail??

I absolutely love this change. I've been seeing a lot of bar cart type of styling. Must consider this on our house.
Wow, it really does brighten up the room with the doors removed! I just added a similar sunburst mirror to my office but I love the way you have yours displayed! Nice transformation – and yes, I would love a cocktail!
Cheers! – Shelley
Looks great Amanda…I love that print!
Love the after!!
Count me in! It looks amazing Amanda. It really opened up the room. I love all the touches of gold too.
Your taste is impeccable! Love all your little touches that make it a home. Great idea on the bar.
I'm loving it! I can't believe you used Rub 'n Buff on that IKEA frame – it looks so good! Taking the doors off definitely gives the whole thing a much more modern look. It's the little things sometimes, isn't it?
I love your ideas!!! Thank you for the inspiration :)
With the doors removed, it really makes it "fit" in the room.
Love it. Looks beautiful!
SMASHING!

It's beautiful! I love what you did! I especially like the bird print and frame. I would never have thought to use Rub N' Buff on an Ikea frame. You are so creative!
What you have done in your living room and the rest of your home is just beautiful! I saw your sconces from Ballard a couple months ago on your blog so now I own two of them also. They are expensive, but well worth the price! Thank you for your inspiration!

I'll be right over! :)
Wow, it looks beautiful! I love the print and the color of the grass cloth enhances all the decor.
