Call me a glutton for punishment, but the Sunday after Thanksgiving we blitzed not one but TWO birthday parties for the littles. When they both decided on a Georgia Tech theme and I realized we’d already had family in town for Thanksgiving,it just made sense to knock it all out in one {loooong} day.I used the same invitation for both boys. Whit wanted a baseball spin on his soiree, while John asked for football. I used the football treat tags shared earlier this fall as inspiration.
I used the exact same set up for both parties. Even when we do them away from home I still love to make it as festive as possible. After a few gos at it, I’ve got a routine in place. I bring LOTS of balloons, favors that go with the theme, table cloths, plates, cups, napkins, a cake plate, candles, a copy of the invitation and a signature book and pen. Since most places provide all of this with the party, I simply box their stuff up to use back at home – the littles adore getting their breakfast on a Chuck E. plate. I pack it all up in a tub like this which makes it super easy.
Anyhoo, so it all came together looking like this. Both parties used the same balloons and pom poms. Whit’s at Chuck E. Cheese…
…and John’s at Sky Zone.
I dressed up McEntyre’s signature white cakes exactly the same for both parties. It literally took no time to add yellow and black sixlets (Party City) and a bobble head I scrounged up out of the play room.
The favor boxes were almost identical as well, with the exception of a squishy football for John and a bouncy baseball for Whit. We filled each one with a Georgia Tech pom pom, yellow and black candy (Party City) and a luggage tag with the favorite team. We had CeeCee and Whit invited one little girl, so Mother made them GT bows to add to their boxes.
Every year we have their birthday party guests sign a book. These are always favorite reads! Whit picked Hello Buzz! and John chose the Georgia Tech Trivia Book.
As for the actual parties, let me start with the baby… he had a WONDERFUL morning celebrating at the Cheese. We chose the earliest Sunday time slot and it was pretty empty, which was nice. They do a great job and making the whole thing easy and seamless and the kids all had a great time.
The highlight for Whit was when Chuck came out to strum a little balloon guitar with him…
… and then orchestrate the singing of Happy Birthday!
Make a wish, precious!
Whit took his brother in the Ticket Blaster with him. We left the place with thousands of tickets and an arm full of lovely prizes.
After a brief respite, we headed off to Sky Zone for John’s 8th birthday celebration! I cannot tell you how
glad I was to have not been entertaining this wild bunch in my house.
They had a fantastic time – literally jumping off the walls.
After an hour of jumping, dodge ball and basketball, we adjourned to the party room where they showed a precious video of the kids in action.
The boys handily polished off three pizzas and then wanted to open presents before cake.
Round two of Happy Birthdays and cake was just as sweet…
…and I couldn’t help but ask myself how this all happened so fast!
Happy Birthday, boys!
xoxo

Fun! We've never done a birthday party at C.E.C – not for lack of the boys asking – but we wet to one at Skyzone Roswell back in September. The boys loved that place! You're one brave Mama to pull them both off in one day!
The parties look great – so stylish & fun! Always love seeing your celebrations! :-)
Amazing! The parties are perfect. I did that once too. I had both parties on the same day. It is not for the faint of heart, and it was nice to do them both on the same day, however I don't know that I would do it again. How about you?
You are one brave girl – but smart for getting them all done in one day! Looks like they had fun and I love how you coordinated your outfit!

Thank you so much for your quick tips and tricks. I pride myself on the parties that I host, but you always impress me! Where do you get your favor boxes? I am addicted to your blog!
All that energy and sugar too…you bet it's great to be outside the home! As usual, everything looks great and quite festive. My birthday was the 1st so we were all celebrating! :)
